Strategic Land team submits planning application for 100 homes near Worcester
Following the recent sale of its housebuilding business, Mactaggart & Mickel Group drives forward its strategic land programme with a planning application for 100 new homes near Worcester.
The homes would be built on a 20-acre site next to Plough Road and north of Evelench Road, close to Speed the Plough pub.
Alongside a range of housing types, the proposals include new open recreational space, children’s play areas, new walking and cycling routes, a community orchard and allotments, and new car parking for the local pub, as well as a drop-off point for children attending Tibberton Church of England Primary School.
The proposal will enhance the local biodiversity with the creation of a wildflower meadow, and the planting of specimen, native trees throughout the site.
Michael Gooch, Strategic Land Manager at Mactaggart & Mickel, comments: “Following changes to the scheme, in direct response to local community feedback, we aim to bring multiple benefits to the area through our proposal. These include much-needed affordable homes, new local landscaped spaces, biodiversity gain, and a network of pedestrian and cycle paths that integrate the site with Tibberton.
“We pride ourselves on not just providing for homes but also for encouraging a sense of place, and community.”
The suitability of development of the site in part has already been identified in the draft South Worcestershire Development Plan Review.
The proposals are now being considered by Wychavon District Council.
